Athletic Endowments

Athletic Endowments

The success of Oregon State Athletic teams currently rests on the transactional nature of season football tickets and premium seating assessments. Through the use of endowed funds, Oregon State would like to secure the financial future of Beaver Athletics and our ability to provide scholarship opportunities for 500 OSU student athletes.

There are many endowment opportunities, so whatever your philanthropic motivations, we are here to help you create your own legacy within Oregon State Athletics.

Athletic Endowments are managed in partnership with the Oregon State University Foundation. Currently The Foundation distributes 4.5% of the principle annually for each endowment. More information about the investment performance of the Oregon State Foundation can be found by clicking here.

Head Coaches Endowment

It is no secret that Oregon State Head coaches are the backbone of our ability to field successful athletic teams. What is not always known is the role our coaches play in educating young men and women and preparing them for life after athletics. Oregon State student athletes arrive in Corvallis from every walk of life; rich and poor, short and tall, gregarious and shy. In each circumstance our Head Coaches serve as a “parent away from home” 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

By endowing one of our head coaching positions, you show Beaver Nation that you value the role these individuals play in molding the lives of our young student athletes. In coaching, character and helping student athletes succeed is often more important than wins and losses. Fortunately at Oregon State, our coaches do both.

Gifts to establish a Head Coach’s Endowment are payable over 5 years.

Position Endowments

Position endowments allow a donor to name a position on any of the Beaver athletic teams. Each year distributions from these endowed funds will be awarded to the student athletes who fill the named positions. Each year through a series of planned events you will have the opportunity to meet with the recipient of your scholarship award.

Creating a position endowment has two donation options:

  1. A cash gift of $250,000 to establish the named position endowment, payable over five years, or;
  2. A cash gift of $10,000 per year designated to the named position scholarship fund for ten years in conjunction with a planned gift designated to the position endowment, with a minimum value of $200,000.

Fundraising Goal: $50 million (250 Endowed Scholarships)

Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund

The ultimate goal at Oregon State is to create a scholarship endowment large enough to annually cover the academic related costs associated with providing 500 athletic scholarship opportunities for student athletes. In order to fulfill this ambitious goal, we need the support of the entire Beaver Nation.

Creating a scholarship endowment is the most prudent way to safeguard the future of all Oregon State athletic programs and also allow our coaching staff and administration the freedom to pursue leading edge opportunities including facility enhancement, new athletic teams and increased scholarship opportunities for student athletes at Oregon State.
